Example: an n8n AI agent drafts a reply to a price enquiry
A building materials supplier gets dozens of emails a day asking “how much would this cost and do you have it in stock?” Each time, a salesperson opens the price list and the stock sheet, and customers wait for an answer.

n8n runs on your own server in the EU (a Docker setup). When a new email arrives in the sales inbox, the email node picks it up.

The n8n AI Agent node reads the email and works out which products and quantities are requested. It can only use the tools I allow: a lookup in the price list and the stock sheet.

Discounts and totals are calculated in a Code node using your rules (JavaScript), not by the language model. That way the numbers always match the price list.

The agent writes the reply in Lithuanian and saves it as a draft without sending it. The salesperson reviews it, edits if needed and sends it.

You can see every run in n8n’s execution list, and failed runs send a notification by email.
Result: The salesperson no longer looks up prices by hand; what’s left is checking a ready draft. Data stays on your server, except for the text you send to the language model you choose.

Is n8n really free?
The n8n Community edition installed on your own server can be used for free for your company’s internal workflows. The license is “fair-code” (the Sustainable Use License), not classic open source: for example, it doesn’t allow reselling n8n as a service. You pay for the server, and some business features are only in paid plans, so check what you need.
Who looks after the server if n8n runs on our side?
Self-hosting comes with responsibility: updates, backups and access security. I set up n8n with HTTPS, a protected login and database backups, and updates can be part of support at €150/mo. If you’d rather not have a server, n8n Cloud is an option.
Can the AI agent make mistakes?
It can, which is why it only gets the tools it needs and important actions stay with a person: the agent writes drafts but doesn’t send them, and it has no permission to delete anything. Calculations are done in code, not in the language model. Models understand Lithuanian email well, but a person always has the final say.
How much does an integration cost?
The first solution starts at €450. The price depends on how complex the workflows are and how many there are. I give you a fixed price in writing before work starts, with no commitment. Tool subscriptions usually cost €10–50/month.
What if the integration stops working?
For 30 days after launch I fix bugs for free. After that you can order support from €150/month (cancel any time). If something breaks because of outside changes, let me know and I will fix it.
