Is it really free?
Yes. The initial discussion of your situation is free and doesn't commit you to anything. If it turns out paid work is needed, we agree on its scope and price before we start.
Do we have to have a call?
No. Before suggesting anything, I want to read what you need, check the technical options if necessary and give you a considered answer, so I reply by email. If a call would help clarify the details, we'll schedule one.
What should I write if I don't know yet what I need?
A few sentences are enough: what takes up a lot of time or gets in the way right now, which apps you use and what you'd like to change. If you don't have a clear plan, just write your question.
