Many Lithuanian business teams use Slack as their main communication platform. But most use only the text channels and miss the automation that Slack Workflow Builder and external integrations offer.

Slack can become your team's automation hub: all system notifications, alerts, reports and messages that need action come into Slack and give the team exactly what it needs at the right time.

Slack Workflow Builder: how to automate without code

Slack Workflow Builder is a built-in automation tool that lets you create simple scenarios without programming. For example: an employee clicks a button → a message with a form is sent automatically → the completed form goes into a spreadsheet or a channel.

Popular Slack Workflow Builder scenarios: onboarding new employees (an automatic welcome and a set of instructions), logging incidents (form → channel + email to the IT team), a vacation request process (employee → manager → HR), and collecting weekly reports (on Friday, an automatic question to each team member).

Good to know up front: Workflow Builder is a paid feature. According to the Slack Help Center, only users on the Pro, Business+ or Enterprise plans can create and publish workflows, and it is not available on the free plan. If Slack is your main place for communication, the Pro plan usually pays for itself through these automations alone.

How to connect Slack to business systems with n8n

The n8n + Slack combination lets you send notifications from any business system straight into Slack. This is one of the most widely used automation scenarios.

Practical n8n → Slack integration scenarios: a new CRM enquiry → a Slack notification in the sales channel with the client's details; a server failure → a Slack notification to the IT channel; a new invoice paid → a Slack notification to the finance channel; a change in a Google Sheets row → a team notification; a weekly KPI report → a summary message sent automatically to the management channel.

Formatting Slack messages: n8n lets you build structured Slack messages with buttons, fields and a visual hierarchy. Instead of a plain text message you get a neatly formatted card with all the data you need.

How can Slack bots help with business processes?

Slack bots can act as team assistants: they answer questions, start processes and collect information right inside a Slack conversation.

  1. 1An employee describes the problem to the botSlack
  2. 2The bot creates a helpdesk ticketn8n → helpdesk system
  3. 3The IT team gets a notification with a link to the ticketSlack, IT channel

Popular Slack bot scenarios in Lithuanian businesses: an IT help bot (an employee describes a problem → the bot creates a helpdesk ticket → notifies the IT team); an HR bot (answers to common HR questions: remaining vacation days, entitlements, documents); a sales bot (a sales manager asks "What are this week's sales?" → the bot shows the data from the CRM right away).

AI Slack bots: by integrating Claude or GPT-4, you can build a bot that understands natural language. An employee writes a question in Lithuanian, and the bot answers based on internal knowledge, procedures or databases.

How to set up automatic reports and alerts in Slack

One of the most common use cases is tracking business metrics through Slack. Instead of managers checking several systems every day, all the key numbers come into one Slack channel.

Typical automatic notifications: an 8:00 a.m. standup message with a summary of the day's tasks; a real-time notification when the online store hits its daily sales target; a weekly team productivity report; an alert when a client has gone without a reply for 24+ hours.

These notifications are built with n8n as the middle layer: n8n reads data from different systems, formats the message and sends it to the right Slack channel on a schedule.

How much does Slack automation cost?

The Slack Pro plan (€6.75 per user per month billed annually, or €8.25 billed monthly, excluding VAT, checked October 23, 2026) gives you Workflow Builder and an unlimited number of integrations. On the free plan you can connect up to 10 apps, and Workflow Builder is not available. If you want Slack to become your automation hub, the Pro plan is a must.

The cost of setting up an n8n + Slack integration: a simple scenario (e.g. CRM → Slack notification) from €450; integrating several systems with structured messages €600–1,000; an AI bot that understands natural language €800–1,500.

Most of the time, Slack automation is not a separate investment but part of a wider automation project. Slack notifications are added to other automation scenarios as a notification layer.

Let's discuss your situation

Want to put AI to work in your business?

Tell me which task you want to make easier. We will look at whether the AI tools you already have are enough or whether a separate solution makes sense.

  1. 1

You tell me what matters to you

A few sentences are enough: which task eats up your time or what you would like to change.

  2. 2

I read it and reply by email

Within 1 business day I write back with what I would suggest and what we still need to clarify.

  3. 3

    A call, if it helps

If a call would help, we agree on a time. The scope and price of any paid work are agreed before we start.
