In recent years, chatbots have stopped being something only large corporations can afford. Today a small Lithuanian company can have an intelligent assistant that answers customers 24/7, and it is not an astronomical investment.
But before deciding, it is worth honestly asking: do you need it? Not every business gets the same benefit from a chatbot.
What does a chatbot actually do?
A modern AI chatbot is not the old system that said "Press 1 or 2". Today's bots understand natural language, can answer complex questions and keep track of the conversation's context.
In practice this means: a visitor asks "How much do your services cost?" and the bot answers specifically, based on the description you have provided.
What else can be automated: answers to frequent questions, collecting contact details, categorizing enquiries, handing the conversation over to a person when the bot can't cope.
- 1The visitor asks in their own wordsE.g. "How much do your services cost?"
- 2The bot answers based on your description
- 3It collects contact details and tags the enquiry type
- 4Can't cope: hands over to a person
When does a website chatbot pay off?
A bot fits best when the website gets many similar questions. A good sign: you answer the same 10–15 questions every week.
It is also worth considering if customers often get in touch outside working hours. The bot will work at night and on weekends too.
Where bots are especially useful: online stores, service companies, health or beauty services.
When might a chatbot not pay off?
If the business is highly specialized and customers always need an individual conversation with an expert, a bot may only create an extra barrier.
If you get only 5–10 enquiries a month, the investment may not pay off. A bot will not replace a sales team; it can qualify customers and answer initial questions.
Chatbot integration with WhatsApp, Messenger and your website
A modern chatbot is not limited to a website chat window. The same bot can run in WhatsApp Business, Facebook Messenger or Instagram messages.
This is especially important for the Lithuanian market: many customers would rather write on WhatsApp than through a website form.
- 1The customer writes wherever is convenientWebsite · WhatsApp Business · Messenger · Instagram
- 2The same bot answers with the same knowledge
- 3Whatever the bot can't solve, a person takes over
How much does it cost? A simple chatbot for a website: from €450. A more complex bot with WhatsApp integration: €500–1,500. Monthly support (optional): from €150.
